  1. What do you believe are the two most important skills required by a good Systems Analyst? Why?

Two main important Skills required by a good Systems analyst :

*Developing requirements and specifications requisite to the development or                           procurement of application systems

* Modifying, testing and implementing vendor supplied application software.

*Designing, programming, testing and deploying the enterprise portal.

*  Good knowledge on enterprise applications required

*  Reasonable IT technical skills to understand options around systems architecture

*  Clear understanding of the SDLC and its approach

*   Clear written and verbal communication

*    Good team engagement

These are minimium knowlege to became a System analyst.

2.If you were in charge of this course next term, what changes would you make to improve the course? Why?

changes  make to make improve course

1. Change the pattern of the Exam from Multiple choice to regular pattern exams because the student cannot able to concentrate on whole subject.

2. Removing one of assignment from two and changing it into an 20- 30% of exam so that the student can handle his final exam easily without any mental situations.

These are the two changes are made if i will be the Encharge of this course in furture.

WEEK 10

Maintenance Activities for CQU:

Maintence activities include changing the program, procedures or documentation to ensure correct system performance. This can be done by four maintence activities.

Corrective Maintenance

This is used to fix the errors by finding them. In Cqu this should be used before or after implementing the new system from the current system errors and can make better.

Adaptive Maintenance

This adds enhancements to an operational system and makes the system eaiser to use. This can be used by Cqu after built of a new system for improving the work as easy and flexability.

Perfective Maintenance

This is used to improve the effciency for the existing system to make more reliable and easily maintainable. Cqu may or may not use this system because it is expensive and also more useful.

Preventive Maintenance

This system is to reduce the furture system failure. For Cqu this the main tasks because they cannot retrieve or solve the errors for long time for cure. so, this should use be to not face future problems.

Maintenance Expenses usually are high when a system is implemented because problems must be detected, investigated and sloved. So Cqu should careful when modifying it to new system for not raising these type of incidence in future.

WEEK 9

Discussion About System Changeover For CQU Academic Misconduct System

The system changeover is a process to quit from old information to new system.  This can be done  by using 4 different changeover methods.

        Direct Cutover

Direct cutover is that directly quit from old system to new system. This system is least expensive because of using one system at a time but it gives many problems and it cannot solve for long duration.

In cqu this is difficult to imply for changing the Academic Misconduct process as it has many litigations for each and every steps in each process. If suppose this impiled, the process cannot be taken back into the straight way until the problem is solved as per the solution required.

           Parallel Opeartion

Parallel operation is that to maintain both the system simultaneously upto particular period. This is very expensive, bit confusion while maintaining both the information with double workload  and at last output should be accurate in both.

In CQU this process is not able to maintain because of more expenses thsy cannot maintain staff, the results is delayed and there is no time to have gap after submission of any information to get result and switch for another result to give for other submission.

            Pilot operation

Pilot operation is also silghlty relative as direct cutover in this the process implemented at a selective stage. This is also not proper to imply to CQU Academic Misconduct process as per some problems as direct cutover.

             Phased operation

Phased operation is that the information of old system is divided into some modules according to the particular situation or modification for that information to new system by developing each step perfect.

For CQU this is best and perfect operation to be used for changing the Academic Misconduct process for existing process to new. By this operation there are more advantages, no risks and there will be more time for make best.

WEEK 8

HOW MOBILE PHONES ARE USING BY STUDENTS ?

Mobile technologies (mobile phones, personal data assistants, laptops, MP3 players) are commonplace in our society. Their availability at relatively low cost has contributed to social change, particularly with younger adults who use their mobile phones to maintain relationships unbounded by proximity. The relatively recent availability of 3G (Internet equipped) mobile phones and Personal Data Assistants (PDAs) will increase opportunities for mobile learning and web-based
information can be used to expand the learning experience.

In the article some of examples are given for how the students are using mobile phones for there communication and making the news as part of a BBC project to engage them with journalism. “Using mobile phones, and other technology, in the classroom makes students feel professional and encourages them to value their work”(Lambeth City Learning Centre (CLC) manager Abigail Norton).

1. What is the name of the innovation?
The ipods and mobile phones are becoming crazy in today’s life. These play vital roles in present generation. So it will be useful to communicate with these devices. Using these devices the information can be accessed easily from anywhere in the world. The name of the invention is “ GRAB TECH”.

2. Describe the innovation and how it would work and the service it would provide to students?
Now a day these systems are used to store music play games and to access internet. These resources can be properly used by the intuitions to communicate with the students. The information can be accessed by students by using these inventions when the lecture notes, videos and more subject material are published in the university website. By implementing these inventions the students can get updated information faster and which can be accessed easily.
3. How did you identify this innovation?
Today’s generation every one is keen in using the devices with latest technology. So by implementing the invention in latest technology the students can be benefited.

WEEK 5

STRUCTURED ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC MISCONDUCT:

    Students Submission for Assignment.

1. Raising an incident:

    a. A report of academic misconduct from a person(That may be   assignment marker,   exam invigilator or some other person will observe evidence of academic misconduct)

b. A report taken from a copy detection program.

c. After receving the either report of Academic misconduct.

d. Then lecturer or Course Coordinator should complete paper based student form by evidence to support the suspicion.

2. Recording the incident:

a. Form is sent via internal mail.

b. This mail is received by concern plagiarism officer.

 c. Then they refer cqu student details for contact.

d. Student details and acdemic miscondut details are sent to spreadsheet.

e. So that, all plagiarism officers can share via network.

3. Assigning the offence level:

a. After seeing the details on spreadsheet defines level of plagiarsm as

b. If in level 1 (the student has no previous offences) he/ she is going to loose the marks for the section that is copied.

Else

c. If in level 2 (the student has been found guilty of one offence) automatically a failure in the course is given. Else

d. If in leve3 (the student has been found guilty of two offences) student is sent to CQU exclusion committee.

e. After defining a level of plagiarism then the spreadsheet is updated.

g. This Spreadsheet is sent to course coordinator who is now responsible for deciding on the penalty.

4. Deciding on the penalty

a. Incase of level 1 the penalty is decided on the basis of percentage of the work copied and is assumed with the assignment marks and is deducted from it.

b. In case of level 2 or level 3 course coordinator can decide the misconduct not worthy of penalty and just issue them with a warning or even the decision is some times left to the teaching staff.

c. Course coordinator Writes another form with the indication of penalty applied which is received from plagiarism officer and returns to him after the indications.

5. Applying the penalty involves two steps

a.Letter to the student by informing academic misconduct.

b.Returning the assignment when the above process has been happening the student’s assignment or exam has been suspended until the outcome has been decided.

The spread is again updated as penalty is applied by plagiarism officers.

6. Handling Appeals

a. Students appeal for the decision to penalize them for the academic misconduct.

b. Teaching staff considers the appeal and inform the student

c. if there is no change.

Else

The coordinator requires filling a new form with the details of original d. Incident and send it to the plagiarism officer.

7. Final report is generated.

Week 3

          ABOUT

MOBILE  PHONES

Now a days these are creating Sensation. Every one likes to have mobile phone alteast for a fashion.

1 . Cqu Students for mobile phones or other devices:

Not only Cqu Students Every student need different type of mobile phones with different options.

Here for this we can use sampling techinque for example in cqu the every student is using 3mobile because the every new student when he comes he see every student as a three mobile and asks some about its facilities then he decides what to use.

In the same way for all the mobile or other devices they will be observing and consulting for some students and at finally they will be decide to take decision.

2 . What services would students find interesting and useful ?

For this we can use observation technique. The students need to survey different services and additional services it may be for fashion or for daily use.

Here in the Observation technique we can find solution in stepvice. For each product they will findout wheather the product can use at what extend and how it is important. After observing this we can record and we canmake a report and we can take decision.

3 . what mobile devices do students own? Phones? MP3 players ?                                        4 . What might be the costs and benefits of these innovation?

For this we can use the Questionnarires and Surveys technique.

In this first for survey that what time the product or devices needed time to create. After that releasing the product into market we should see how the sales are going this is based on how the product gives different type of services. For example we should see the sales, by that we can know the product capacity and we can improve the quality and flexbillty ofproduct. By this for new survey we get different type querys and errors to solve. Based on this only Students can get final results.

Academic Misconduct:

Academic misconduct refers to dishonesty by student it may be misbehaveior, examinations, assessment or we can say as a plagiarism.

 According to CQU:

In cqu they are finding academic misconduct as a Plagiarism.

Here dishonesty by a student related to assessment. It may includes any attempt by a student to submit work of assessment that is not their own, wheather they copyied from another student (or) any form of collsion between students.Acting dishonest as assisting or attempting to assist any other student in dishonestly in relation to an assessment or part of assessment it is also known as plagiarism.

Reduce of Plagiarism:

Cqu using a software for a reducing a plagiarism.

They are collecting students assessment via electronically and this they are checking by software. In this software they have stored different types of students assessment while every year by correcting. So in this the repeated source or rewritten information it findouts easily.

As this way the Cqu reduces plagiarism i think so. The above information is what i known from my knowledge.
